Total time
Serves: 6
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • ½ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 3 pound Rack of Ribs, fat trimmed as much as possible
  • 1 tablespoon Salt
  • ½ tablespoon black pepper
  • ½ tablespoon garlic powder
  • Southern Apple Cider Barbecue Sauce (or your favorite BBQ sauce)
  1. Sometimes your butcher will have removed the membrane (the white stuff on the back of the ribs) on the back of the ribs.  However, if you purchased prepackaged ribs like I did, you'll need to take that off yourself.  It's pretty simple to do by grabbing it with a paper towel and pulling it off.
  2. Pour the apple juice and apple cider vinegar into the Instant Pot.  Set the pot to Saute/More to heat it up.
  3. While the Instant Pot is heating up, sprinkle both sides of the ribs with the salt, pepper and garlic powder.  Rub it in with your hands.
  4. Cut the ribs up into 2 rib pieces.
  5. Once the apple juice mixture starts to steam, add the ribs.
  6. Set the Instant Pot on Meat/Stew for 30 minutes.  Once done, leave the ribs in the pot for 10 more minutes then Quick Release (QR).
  7. Heat oven to 400 degrees F.  Cover a baking pan in aluminum foil and place cooked ribs on top of the foil
  8. Spread 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce on each side of the ribs.  Cook for 5 minutes in preheated oven.
  9. Take out of the oven and enjoy!
